Estimating software that ends in a signature.

ScopeToSign is estimating and proposal software for plumbing and HVAC service contractors. Describe a job by photo, voice, or a quick note; it prices from your own price book; you send a Good, Better, Best proposal your customer signs on their phone — and collects a deposit. Estimate to signature, one flow.

From a driveway description to a signed proposal

Four steps, one tool. Each screenshot below is the real product with real demo data — not a mockup.
The ScopeToSign estimate builder's intake step: a plain-language job description typed into the 'Describe the job' panel, with photo and hold-to-talk voice options above it.
1

Describe the job

Snap a photo, hold to talk, or type a line. No blueprints needed — quote from photos, voice, or a quick description. The AI reads what’s there, matches it to your own tasks, and drafts the estimate; you confirm before a single number is priced. It never sets a price.

2

Get a priced estimate

Every line prices live from your own price book — tanks, add-ons, permit, haul-away — with Good/Better/Best totals along the bottom. Change a size or a toggle and the totals re-price instantly, and the review engine flags the code add-ons a cheap quote forgets before you send.

3

Send a Good/Better/Best proposal

Your customer sees three clear options with the delta spelled out, scope of work, and what’s not included — on any phone. Each option shows exactly what it adds over the one below it, so more customers pick up rather than down, and the average ticket climbs on its own.

4

Get it signed — and a deposit

They sign on their phone and you have an evidence-grade acceptance record, a PDF, and (when enabled) a deposit collected on your own Stripe account. The signed estimate locks; anything that changes afterward becomes a numbered change order, so the record always adds up.

A review engine that catches what costs you money

Before you send, ScopeToSign checks the estimate against the pack’s rules — the expansion tank you skipped, the permit you forgot, the pan the code wants. Deterministic rules can block a send; AI findings only ever warn.
The ScopeToSign review sheet catching what a low quote misses: a permit-required block plus warnings for a missing expansion tank and forgotten items, each with a one-tap 'Add it' priced from the pack.
  • Forgotten items, priced. Each finding has a one-tap “Add it” that pulls the real price from your pack.
  • Permit and code catches. The rules know when a job needs a permit or an expansion tank, and hold the send until it’s resolved.
  • Your numbers, never invented. The AI assembles and reviews; it never sets a price. Money only ever comes from your price book.

Real numbers from a real pricing engine

ScopeToSign is built by Ashesh Dhakal, a software founder — not a licensed tradesperson, and this page won’t pretend otherwise. What makes the numbers trustworthy isn’t a name on a byline; it’s the engine. Every price is computed by a deterministic resolver in integer cents — never guessed by an AI — from pack defaults researched out of published trade data and labeled, on every table, as researched defaults.

And none of it is fixed in stone. The moment you install a pack it becomes your price book: every labor rate, markup, and material price is yours to edit, so the number that goes out the door is your price, not ours. The defaults are a fast, honest starting point — not a ceiling, and never a quote in disguise.

Written by Ashesh Dhakal · The numbers are real resolver output; every price is yours to adjust in your own price book.
